Round trip around Lake Constance – Europe’s biggest water fall - by cable car up the Pfänder mountain. Take a boat almost to the heart of the Rhine Falls and glide up above Lake Constance on the Pfänder mountain cable car to then enjoy whizzing down the mountain by bike. Day 1 Arrival in Constance
Particularly worthy of visiting are the Island of Mainau, the historic town centre and the Sea Life Centre.

Day 2 Constance - Radolfzell - Stein a.Rh., 40 km/25 mi
Cycle route along the romantic Lower Lake, passing the Hermann-Hesse-Museum and medieval Stein.

Day 3 Trip to Schaffhausen & Rhine Falls, 45 km/28 mi
Canton capital Schaffhausen and the Munot fortress and a boat trip to the Rhine Falls.

Day 4 Stein a.Rh. - Constance - Überlingen, 42 km/26 mi
Cycle route along the Swiss side of the lake, passing the Napoleon Museum, from Wallhausen by boat to Überlingen.

Day 5 Überlingen - Friedrichshafen, approx. 31 km/19 mi
Highlights today are the pilgrimage church of Birnau, the Pfahlbauten “Lake Dwelling” Museum and the Old Castle in Meersburg.

Day 6 Friedrichshafen - Lindau, approx. 27 km/17 mi
Many small villages are located along the route, idyllically among orchards; discover the island town of Lindau.

Day 7 Trip to Bregenz & Pfänder mountain, 25 km/16 mi
Today takes you to the famous lake stage, the Kunsthaus gallery and a trip by cable car.

Day 8 Lindau - Rorschach - Constance, 36 km/22 mi
Boat trip along Bregenz Bay to Rorschach and through “Mostindien” or “Cider India”, as it is locally known, to Constance.

Day 9 Departure or extend your stay

The booking process

Arrival:

• Parking facilities in Constance:
  Most hotels offer unguarded parking, prices range between 40 and 80 €/week, pre-booking is not possible. Alternatively, there are free parking facilities in residential areas - Constance is very safe.

• Arriving by train:
  The hotels located in the historical centre are only a few walking minutes from Constance’s main railway station. For the hotels in the district of Lizelstetten, there is a direct bus (number 4) that departs right in front of the station. For the hotels in the Petershausen area we recommend taking a taxi, which usually costs around 9 €.

• Arriving by plane at Zurich airport:
  Distance to Constance approx. 70 km / 43 miles, there is a good train connection.
  Price for a single ticket to Constance: approx. 30 SFR/ 25 €.
  Price for a German taxi to Constance: approx. 150 € per car.

• Booked rental bikes can be picked up at the bike station in the city centre.
