All Hallows Museum Schaffhausen

Cycling along Lake Constance - All Hallows Museum Schaffhausen

Located right in the centre of Schaffhausen lies the former All Hallows (“Allerheiligen”) monastery. Benedictine monks, Pauline Fathers and canons lived here, before it was converted to be used for more profane means during the reformation. The monastery church, which is the largest Romanesque church in Switzerland, was turned into a protestant parish church, while the remaining grounds house the All Hallows museum, which is dedicated to the tradition of knowledge, culture and human encounters.

All Hallows Museum Schaffhausen

Permanent exhibitions on topics as diverse as regional archaeology, early advanced civilizations, the cultural history of Schaffhausen, Swiss art, regional natural history and ornithology mean it is the largest universal museum in Switzerland. Changing special exhibitions complete this well-rounded concept.
